Mostly written in ballad form, with a very tight rhyming scheme, The Reflection Tree tells a story with each poem.  These stories address personal and social issues from a personal and often philosophical perspective.

All roads lead to Syracuse in the historically based short stories of Harry the Hobo, a story of one woman's journey to embrace her past during the great depression; Independence Day, a story of one woman's fight for self determination in the 1840's; The Book of Ruth, a story of one woman's struggle between doing what she knows is right and doing what others try to tell her is right; and Percy's Thunder, a simple story of friendship between two women.

In 1978 a young rookie detective for the Syracuse Police Department named Kathryn Krol is partnered with a seasoned veteran detective named Angelo Marcello.  Weary of having a female partner Angelo reluctantly shows her the ropes of being a detective.  When she shares with him a recurring dream of a nun being murdered crucifixion style he starts to seriously doubt if she is cut out to be a detective.  That is until they are assigned a murder case that matches her dream in every detail.
